Working to improve the health and wellbeing of our community

Health & Wellness

For over a half-century, The Vancouver Danish Brotherhood has been concerned with helping our community with support around health. Our mission is to empower our volunteers and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through services and grants that impact lives directly.

Dania Home is just one example. It is a long-term care facility in Vancouver, British Columbia, serving the community for many years. It strongly associates with the Danish community and aims to provide care and support to elderly individuals in a nurturing and culturally sensitive environment. Dania Home offers various services, including assisted living, residential, and respite care. The facility prioritizes the health, well-being, and quality of life of its residents and strives to create a comfortable and engaging living environment. Alongside its care services, Dania Home also supports various health and wellness programs to enhance the overall vitality of its residents.

Sick Commitee

For decades, members of the Danish Brotherhood have visited Danes in need to see how they are doing, perhaps bringing news or reading a book. The Sick Committee is a very important part of the Brotherhood’s connection to the community and a big reason why it’s so important to our membership.
